Zach Bush tells his story

One of the more active organisations in the USA is Farmers’ Footprint which involves regenerative farming activist Dr Zach Bush who is a medical doctor. Dr Bush is a rare individual who crosses disciplines such as medicine, farming, nutrition, philosophy, and marketing, and therefore, speaks with authority about the significance of regenerative farming to world health. Recently Dr Bush conducted research into the effects of modern agricultural strategies such as chemical agriculture by working his way down the Mississippi River from Minnesota at its source to New Orleans as its endpoint. What Bush found had more to do with the structure of farming in the USA and how farmers have become disempowered by government and regulatory authorities to the point where they have lost confidence in bucking the system and experimenting with new ideas. The findings may mirror problems with change in Australia as well.

These thoughts are captured in the following interview and can be shortened in length by listening only to Bush from the 8th minute mark to the 17th minute. Zach Bush M.D. will be speaking at the RCS conference in Brisbane in July.
