IEA Community of Practice

Through our growing membership, the Institute of Ecological Agriculture is building a nationwide Community of Practice to accelerate the extension and adoption of regenerative thinking and practice in agriculture. Currently we are fostering connectivity between members via our Facebook Group - IEA Members Hub and WhatsApp - IEA Accreditation Community:

IEA WhatsApp Community

Led by IEA Accreditation Director, Dr Katharine Brown, the purpose of the IEA Accreditation WhatsApp Community is to build the IEA Community of Practice, share and discuss the Heart, Head, and Hand dimensions of the IEA Knowledge Circles, champion the IEA Accredited members, and support members who are interested in, or in the process of applying for, IEA Accreditation.

If this is you, please email Katharine with your request to join the IEA WhatsApp Community!

Facebook Group

Led by IEA Membership Director Nathan Strawbridge, the purpose of this group is to facilitate general discussion and foster connections between fellow members, supporting one another and sharing knowledge, while advancing their own journeys in regenerative (ecological) agriculture and agroecology overall.

’Kumu’… under construction

To strengthen member connections further, we re working towards activating Kumu, an innovative visual network mapping tool.

Once built out, Kumu will allow IEA members to easily connect with one another, facilitating knowledge exchange and support for members to advance their knowledge and understanding across all eight Knowledge Circles identified within the IEA accreditation process.

With this interactive platform, the IEA Board of Directors’ vision is to help members navigate the network, discover expertise, and support peer-to-peer learning in a dynamic and engaging way.Kumu has the ability to shape-shift our member list into different configurations.

By first experimenting with a small test map of our Board of Directors, we’ll be discovering the features of Kumu and the best way to arrange views of relevance such as:

- Cluster members by state
- Cluster by ‘Knowledge Circles’
- Cluster by agricultural interest

We’ll be sharing a link soon for a pilot run of Kumu for members to experiment with how to use it.

Click through to take a look at Kumu yourself to get a sense of what our vision is.
